A. PCT Mission Statement    Unchanged -promote public understanding; value & right to enjoy pets; enhance knowledge through research & education; promote professionalism among companion animal community.

B. PCT Role    Unchanged - mission statement plus coordinate with industry associations to reduce duplication; communicate with allied animal groups; industry/public information on health, welfare, human-animal bond & special programs -press, shows, schools, long term elder care, pet retailers.

C. PCT Program Operation:    
     * Reduce Expenses    -Administration Reduced by 50% by
June 1997 - Accomplished.

     * No Employees    -Program Coordination: 50% consultant.

     * Establish Grant Program    -Projects Funded since 1996:
  1996 - 4 projects total $20,000
  1997 - 9 projects total $64,038
  1998 - 8 projects total $56,680
  1999 - 5 projects total $67,662
  2000 - 7 projects total $91,700

     * Estab. Sue Busch Award    1999 - 3 awards in FL, GA, WI
2000 - 3 awards in AL, IO, IN

     * Seven Member Board    -Established with quorum of 4 members.

     * PCT will be Board Driven    -Established and Accomplished.

     * Assoc. Representation on Bd.    -PCT Administered by Industry Associations: APPMA; PIDA & WWPSA
2 Trustees from APPMA, PIDA & WWPSA each, Plus 7th member selected at large by Board 0f Trustees.

     * Solicit Assoc. Support    -1997: $150,000 from 3 associations
-1998: $100,000 from 3 associations
-1999: $70,000 from 2 associations
-2000: $130,000 from 3 associations

     * Grant Application Protocol    -Research & Special Programs: standardized request for pre-proposals and proposals; selection criteria estab.; Trustee priorities; PCT legal Agreement Midterm & final reports submitted with grant budget accountability required.

     * Corpus Income Utilization    -Used for administration, grants & education.

     * Seek Outstanding Pledges    -June, 1997 PCT update letter to all former PCT pledges;
September, '97 payment request form. Year 2000: Registration in all US States; Board of Trustee to design a fund raising effort to seek additional funding.

     * Solicit PCT Project Sponsors    -Identified 24 industry species groups & veterinary associations for co-funding of animal projects. Co-funding sharing with grant application of mutual interest.

     * Expanded Grants Programs    -Formal program once each year (see above)
