The PetsForum Group is pleased to once again this year accompany world famous fish explorer Heiko Bleher on his journeys throughout the world looking for rare, new and unusual freshwater fishes. This month Heiko will journey to the deserts of California and Nevada to report on the interesting and endangered varieties of Desert Pupfish.

The Trip to the Deserts of the SouthWest!

Beginning June 19, 1998, the FishNet Explore Team travelled to the Deserts of the SouthWest to photograph endangered species of Desert Pupfish! Their trip took them to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in Arizona where the Quitobaquito Pupfish is found, and to Death Valley California and Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge for three other species of Pupfish, including the very rare Devil's Hole Pupfish. Heiko and the rest of the team visited and photographed some very out-of-the way places, so be sure to check the links below for more info on this exciting trip!

In 1997 the PetsForum Group accompanied Heiko Bleher on an expedition to unexplored regions surrounding the Rio Juaru in a remote area of the Brazilian rainforest. You can read about this expedition, view photographs and videos of the trip, and attend a virtual lecture by Heiko Bleher about the trip. Access FishNet Explore '97 for more information.
